Brooklyn Nets guard D' Angelo Russell

Brooklyn Nets wins first road game

Brooklyn Nets guard D’ Angelo Russell led his team with 23 points 6 rebounds and 8 assists.  Joe Harris came off the bench to score a season-high 18 points. And Allen Crabbe added 15 points in 22 minutes of play. As the Brooklyn Nets won their first road game. By beating the Phoenix Suns 98-92, at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.

The Nets should consider themselves lucky to leave Phoenix with a win tonight. As they saw their 15 points first-half lead, turn into a  one-point deficit (75-74).

The Nets shot 40% from the field and 25% from behind the three-point line. The need for a starting point guard became obvious (once again), As the team committed 16 turnovers and the lack of leadership stood out on the floor at times.

“It wasn’t the prettiest game. But our defense was good” said Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson.

Now if that’s what Atkinson needs to tell his players to get them fired up. Then so be it. But in reality, the Phoenix Suns were just flat out horrible. They shot 34% from the field and 25% from behind the three-point line. The Suns missed a ton of open shots and failed to take advantage of the Nets small lineup.
