The Celtics returned home tonight after two games in Milwaukee. They went 0-2 while in Milwaukee. Boston needed to return to their home court in order to get back on track.

Marcus Smart returned in tonight’s game after suffering a torn UCL in his right thumb. Smart has not played since March 11. He missed the end of the regular season and the first four games of the playoffs. Smart played 24 minutes and scored 9 points off the bench.
Another key aspect of Boston’s win is that they held Giannis Antetokoumpo to 16 points. Anytime that you can hold a team’s best player to 16 points or less, it works to your benefit.

The next game takes place on Thursday. This game will be in Milwaukee, which could potentially be a problem for the Celtics. Boston could either close this series, or the Bucks could force a Game 7. If the Bucks force a Game 7, Boston would have the home court advantage. Game 7 would take place in TD Garden. Boston is undefeated at home in this series. The Bucks could win the next two games, however it could be difficult. Although the Bucks are a talented team, the Celtics play well at home. They could close out the series in Milwaukee, or return home and finish the series.
The Celtics are one step closer towards the next round. But, it is up to them how soon it will be.
