Houston Rockets Slams New York Knicks 119-97

The Houston Rockets ended a two-game losing streak by beating the New York Knicks 119-97  at Madison Square Garden. With the Knicks currently on a three-game winning streak before the Rockets came to town.

James Harden led his team with 31 points 5 rebounds  9 assists. Ryan Anderson added 21 points and Eric Gordon chipped in 17 points. The win gives the Houston Rockets their fourth straight win over the Knicks. New York hasn’t beaten  Houston since November 21, 2015. When they won 107-102 out in Houston.

However, the last time the Knicks beat the Rockets at Madison Square Garden was February 25, 2003.

The Knicks held a 30-24 lead in the second quarter of last night game. The Rockets then ran off 16 straight points and never looked back.

“You’re in the Garden man, you got to bring it,” said James Harden. The lights are on so guys played well”

Tim Hardaway Jr led the Knicks with 23 points. Kristraps Prozingis added 19 points and Enes Kanter chipped in 12 points 6 rebounds.

The Knicks are currently on a 5 game homestead with Phoenix,  Indiana, and Charlotte all coming to town this week. (they beat Denver 110-116, Monday night).

After the game, Rockets head coach Mike D’ Antoni stated  ” Well it’s a lot easier to hit threes when your up seven and not down seven” which was a nice way of downplaying his team’s performance over the Knicks.

D’ Antoni coached the Knicks for three and half seasons (2008-2011). He resigned March 14, 2014, with the Knicks having an 18-24 record.
