Things aren’t looking great for the Sixers right now. The Philadelphia 76ers are down 3-0 against the Celtics.
Earlier today,The Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 101-98. Their win came in overtime. After winning both games in Boston, the Celtics also won in Philadelphia.
The Celtics continue to play well, despite playing without Kyrie Irving. They surprised me in the first round, and they continue to surprise me. Jayson Tatum scored 24 points for the Celtics. Terry Rozier scored 18 points. Jaylen Brown scored 16 points. Al Horford scored 13 points. Horford also made the go-ahead basket for the Celtics towards the end of half-time.
The Sixers lost despite solid performances from Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Joel Embiid scored 22 points and had 19 rebounds. JJ Redick had 18 points. Ben Simmons had 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. Simmons bounced back from his 1-point game on Thurday. Ersan Ilyasova scored 14 points. Marco Belinelli scored 12 points. Dario Saric scored 11 points.
The Sixers are the third seed of the Eastern Conference. They fought throughout the regular reason to get that seed. They even beat the Cavs late in the regular season to become the third seed. The Sixers also beat the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs. But, there time could be up. It is difficult to overcome a 3-0 deficit, but it isn’t impossible. If the Sixes win the game, they can avoid getting swept. However, that might be all.
This is the first time the Sixers have made the playoffs in nearly 6 years. So, it is also the first time “The Process” has had playoff experience. Although the playoffs might be over for the 76ers soon, they are still young. They have plenty of time to grow. This is the first time we’ve seen the Sixers, but it definitely isn’t our last. Personally, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.
