Dwyane Wade has agreed to a one-year 2.3 million dollar deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. After 13 seasons in Miami, Wade signed a two-year 47 million dollar deal with the Chicago Bulls. He averaged 18 points in 60 games last season for the Bulls. But agreed to a buyout before the start of this season.
After trading Jimmy Bulter it became obvious that the Bulls was moving in a new direction. Once Wade and the Bulls reached a buyout agreement. Teams like the Spurs, Thunder, Heat, and Cavs, all lined up for his services.
The 35-year-old three-time champ decided to join the Cavs because of his relationship with Lebron James. The two went to four straight finals in Miami and won two of them (2012-13).
The question now is how does Wade fit in with a team who has at least 6 guards on the roster?. The Cavs just signed Jose Calderon and Derrick Rose during the off-season. They already had JR Smith, and Iman Shumpert, plus Isiah Thomas will be back. (let’s not forget about Kay Fielder)
With that said what will the Cleveland coaching staff do with Wade?. Can they find enough minutes for the 12x All-Star? It’s reported that the 35-year-old, will be coming off the bench. Which easily could be his best bet because one more serious injury would definitely end his basketball career.
